Terms and Conditions: Teaching
Pricing:
Teaching Days are priced at £150 per person, with a minimum booking of 2 people (£300).
This includes tuition, materials, use of tools, all food and drink, and of course your own handmade basket to take home.
Payment Information:
Once I have received your message (via the booking page), I will send you an email, confirming availability on your requested date. This email will include an invoice, and your booking will only be confirmed once payment has been made in full.
Cancellation Policy:
If you wish to cancel within 2 weeks of your teaching day, you will receive a 50% refund. If you wish to cancel anytime prior to the two weeks before your session, a 75% refund will be issued.
A lot of time and organisation goes into the preparation and planing of my teaching days, including the preparation of materials, and the ordering of fresh food. Due to this, I am not able to offer full refunds - but please get in contact if you wish to change your date (before the 2 week window). Thank you for your understanding.
Number of people:
Due to the nature of the space and the depth of knowledge to share, all of my teaching days are limited to between 2-4 people. Bookings can only be made for a minimum of 2 people, so that the day can go ahead.
If you book for 2 people, the day will remain available to book for another group of 2, allowing you to meet others who share your interest. However, bookings of 3-4 will not be advertised further.
Food & Dietary Requirements:
All of the food is locally sourced - information about this can be found on the teaching page.
Gluten free: I am able to offer a gluten free alternative for the pasties, however no gluten free alternative is available for sweet things.
Dairy free: The steak pasties are dairy free, however a dairy free vegetarian option is not available. The saffron buns, scones, and heava cake are not dairy free, however dairy free Cornish biscuits can be provided as an alternative. Oat milk can also be offered.
Vegetarian/Vegan: A cheese and veg pasty can be provided instead of a steak pasty, however there is no vegan pasty option. The dairy free biscuits are also vegan, but nothing else is.
Please disclose any dietary requirements when booking, and please note that I cannot offer any alternatives, other than what’s listed above, so you may be required to bring your own food.
Allergies: While nothing contains nuts, all goods are baked within an environment that does handle nuts. Therefore I cannot guarantee nut-free.
Age Requirements:
The making of a basket involves the use of sharp and heavy tools. Because of this, I would recommend that only those over the age of 16 would be suitable to attend.
Physical Requirements:
Basketmaking can be hard on the hands, and fingers in particular. It is normal for most people to feel some stiffness in their hands by the end of the day, as you will be using muscles that you might not normally use. However, it may prove too demanding for those with arthritis or limited finger/hand control and movement.
Access:
Access to the front canopy is flat, and therefore wheelchair accessible. However, there are two steps leading into the studio area - where food and drink is served. There’s also a toilet inside the studio, which is not wheelchair accessible.
In the Summer months teaching will take place in the front canopy of the nissen hut, and feasting in the rear studio. During the cooler months both feasting and teaching occur in the studio.
